The ‘Real’ Price We Pay For Fast Food

I picked this up from Adverblog. its a nice branded content piece that links Fiona Apple and Chipotle Mexican Grill. It’s the same fight we see Jamie Oliver up against, and how the fast food industry is changing the rules when it comes to human food consumption.  I’m a sucker for fast food, but after watching this film, it really did make me sit back and think it over. Sometimes, it’s funny how some things can just hit the right chord.

This story is simply touching, and it hits out at all of us on the values we had as kids. That the food we eat comes from the harmony between humans and nature. the stories we were told all had some elements of this such as the Wizard of Oz, Hansel & Gretel, Jack & The Beanstalk, Heidi. The lovely voice of Fiona Apple gives this piece a very somber but chilling feel.

There is also a game that let’s you play the role of the scarecrow to fight off the evil Crow Foods. Nice way to teach young kids, the values of real food and the difference between mass-produced foods. The lead director Brandon Oldenburg, of Moonbot Studios, used the scarecrow, because it symbolized the protector of food, as seen used at farms, whereby it fends crows away from crops. To see more about the what the guys thought of the film check out the behind the scenes video here.
